SPACEGHOSTSWIM HERE, I HAVE THE BEST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL [ADULT SWIM] FANS!
I just saw the trailer for the 25th anniversary of [AS] that will be an entire Robot Chicken episode!! It's going to have (pretty darn close to) every single show referenced & called back to... as somebody who has been actually mourning how many of those shows are no longer in production or even on air, this is so fucking exciting. Actually crying joyful tears about this.
I'm shaking and so fucking thrilled, this is the crossover I've waited my whole life for. It looks like a really fun, and most perfect way to say goodbye to so many of these beloved shows & characters. More than I could possibly name drop in the tags. I kept pausing like a madman & hope some of my screenshots do it justice, but watch the trailer!!
Especially after the passing of our beloved Space Ghost, George Lowe, I am so glad that this is happening. [AS] raised me, helped produce my favorite series of all time, introduced me to my favorite comedian & I don't know who I would be without the network.
I didn't realize that I was almost just as old as it & this feels like the event of a lifetime for me. BIGGEST news for ol spaceghostswim here, I hope that this announcement excites fans out there even a little bit as much as it has for me.
What a wonderful reason to go & rewatch + finish off more shows, especially the classics. I'm going off my first frame by frame analysis of the trailer but immediately I already saw so many familiar characters and I'm having the happiest heart attack. This is why I started this blog, it felt so crushingly empty realizing quite recently that Robot Chicken is pretty much the only original show still running.
I couldn't bring myself to revisit a lot of my favorites, I haven't been able to articulate how hard it's been since George passed. There was quite a bit of spite I had for how quietly a lot of these shows had been cancelled, especially my favourite show to ever exist, The Eric Andre Show.
I don't want to get my hopes up too high... but I don't think I could think of a better way to properly send off our old friends, as [AS] appears to have acquired a new generation of programming set to air in the next few years.
Thank you to all who have followed me for this, especially considering I've drifted from posting about these shows & the culture surrounding the network recently. I was genuinely quite torn up, it's been a hard year for me, but I hope I can reconcile my sadness even just a little with this farewell special.
